Not Me Monday

http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r208/jennisajoy/OUAB/NotMeMondaySIDEBAR180x180.jpg
I did not push the snooze button two times today wishing I could sleep in on this dreary Monday.

A certain husband (who will remain nameless) and me NEVER wait until the boys go to bed to sneak out the ice cream in the back of the freezer. (I might get a spoonful if we did share with the boys, so no, I do NOT feel guilty)

It was NOT ME if anyone finds the empty carton of White Chocolate Almond in the freezer.

If anyone asks...it was NOT me who cleaned all three boys' room this weekend and threw away THREE HUGE black bags full of JUNK. I did NOT lock the door so they couldn't come in and see what I was throwing away. I wouldn't do that. Broken toys, paper, things I've never seen before, maybe even a few stuffed animals...(gasp!)

I certainly did NOT find a tupperware in my outside fridge that was from the summer. And yes, it had something in it....

It never comes to my mind how nice it would be with no dogs...

I am NOT the kind of mom who trys to talk her children into costumes that are easy to put together and actually under $300 for one night of the year...

It's NOT me who has a pile of clean clothes on the couch. I'ts NOT me who has no intention of folding them today.

I am NOT the type of mom to tell Caleb that "bad" kids are at Chuck E Cheese when he asks me if we can go. And it wasn't that same four year old that asked me if we could go in the morning before the "bad" kids got there...

Little Cutie

This just makes me happy. I wish she was closer, I miss her!

Bedroom too!

Since I already had the paint out for the bathroom, why not update the bedroom too? I painted an accent wall behind our bed the same color as the cabinets. Then, changed our bedding and bought a few little knick knacks to go with it. It flows well into the new bathroom! Click on any picture to see a bigger version.

A little home makeover...

We've been in our home now for 3 1/2 years and have always disliked our faucets in the master bath. They were old and didn't match. On a TOTAL whim, I wanted to paint the cabinets and update our bathroom. This project took about two days and we are so pleased with it. Details below...

I primed the cabinets to start then painted it "Dark Granite" from Lowe's. I bought some molding and painted it the same color. Then Michael cut it to make a "frame" around our old mirror. We hung the molding with liquid nails and presto...a new mirror! I bought some little decorations at Hobby Lobby and Michael installed the faucets for me. The color on the walls stayed the same.

Soccer Time!

Aaron making a move!!!

Larry, Moe, and Curly...a.k.a. Hudson, Caleb, and Sam.
It's so cute to have them all on the field at the same time
but all they do is talk and hug each other. BFF

Jacob our new goalie in the family!!! It's so
exciting to watch him play!

My skaters...

Shred it, rip it, grind it... My boys have so many bandaids
because of those three skateboards. Jacob has scratched the
same ankle bone three times. Each time made it worse.
They are getting better everyday and not so many bo-bos now.
Whew! One of their favorite things to do right now is we
all pack up in the truck (bikes, scooters, chairs) and drive
down the street to the high school. They have the whole
parking lot to ride around. Caleb just learned how to ride
his bike with training wheels last weekend. He loves being
JUST like his big brothers.

Whaaaahhhhhahhhhh!

Today was Caleb's first day at school. He is in the Kinderskills class at The Vine in Friendswood. He was so excited and couldn't wait until today! He had his backpack and lunch box ready about a month ago! He asked me this morning if they were going to learn math today. I told him let's take one day at a time and see. :) We got to the classroom, he sat down like a big boy. Mom, on the otherhand, was not a big girl. I asked him if I could pull up a chair and stay with him and he said "no" as he politely motioned for me to go. He's such a big boy! He's going to have so much fun.

Procrastination is EXPENSIVE...

Well, mommy learned a lesson today! Do not wait until the last minute to do something. A little background...my boys are obsessed with Lego's. They dream about them, stow them away in their backpack, save money to buy them, trade their kidneys for them, etc. You get the point. Anyway, Jacob wanted to enter this Building Challenge where you had to build something to "rescue R2D2" and write an essay about it. Well, needless to say Jacob did this about a month ago and I took pictures. (you had to send pictures in with the essay) I got them developed and said I'd go to the post office as soon as I could. Well, school was starting and mommy forgot!!!!!! Yeah...oops...So last night I was looking on my dresser and low and behold there were the pictures. I looked at the date and Lego had to receive it by midnight Tuesday. So...yep, you guessed it...I had to OVERNIGHT it. Monday is the 31st...Went to the PO this morning and my procrastination cost me a whopping $17.50. I think it would have been cheaper for me to drive to turn it in. Good grief. Have I not overnighted in a while or is that expensive?? I told the lady at the counter the story and she said, "yep, mom, you gotta pay it." Wow, talk about guilt trip. See? Doesn't matter how old you are...you still learn lessons. (they just cost more)

Early "not me" Monday

Well, I have to say it will NOT be me having a baby on Monday morning. (seriously, not me) The doctors have decided that baby Zoey needs to come out! Because of some health issues, Kelly will have a C-Section Monday morning and I will have my first NIECE! She is only 35 weeks complete but will be well taken care of in Beaumont. I'm sure Zoey will be gracing the front of my blog if mom lets her! Someone has got to tell me what to do with a little girl!! Help!

Have a great weekend,

Kelly's Maternity Session

Some of you have asked for more pictures from Kelly's maternity session, so I am adding my favorites to a photo album slideshow. I hope you enjoy them. Another great idea to do with photo sessions is have them made into an 8X8 memory book. I just made one today for Kelly and can't wait to give it to her. You can click on the slideshow to see it bigger. Which one is my favorite?
This one...

First Day of School

Here we are again at the start of another school year. Jacob is heading to the 3rd grade with Mrs. Wright and Aaron is in 2nd with Mrs. Stevenson. They were both so excited and a little nervous this morning. Caleb will start school on September 8th at a little Pre-K in town.

Later!

Monday....glorious Monday

OK. So this is my first "not me" Monday post I got the idea from a friends blog. I think it is hilarious and cute. (not to mention I love reading everyone else's) I will also be doing "not my child" Monday addition today too! The logo behind it says "being brutally honest and living to tell about it!"

OK. Let's see. It was NOT me who slept until 8:30 this morning because it was "mommy's last of summer too, ya know!"

It also was NOT me who fed my wonderful children a very wholesome bowl of cereal
(a.k.a. sugar) because it was late by the time I got up and got my coffee. (see the "not my child" section below for an additional comment)

Oh, and speaking of coffee...it was NOT me who went straight to the kitchen and made herself a cup of coffee before doing ANYTHING else with her children. (even if they were starving!)

It was definitely NOT me today in the pouring rain, jump starting my car because it ran out of batteries at the boys' school. (It was not me trying to hide behind the umbrella) Thank you Erin. You're my hero.

It was NOT me who, after that wonderful event, came home and told myself I deserve to lay down in my nice bed and rest because of what I just went through. Boys....play the Wii...that is a command.

Whew...OK...at least I was an angel today...but my boys on the other hand...that's another story.

It was NOT my precious angels who, when I gave them their cereal bowls, were FIGHTING over which kid bowl they wanted. Actually fighting, pulling the bowls to which one they wanted. What???
Oh, one more thing...I was NOT me who took the bowls and put the "sugar" and milk in a plain, boring, mom and dad, adult bowls. Very mature.... I know.

It was NOT MY boys that after I told them we were going to Space Center Houston and McDonalds for our last fun day of summer, that when we were getting in the Tahoe I heard SCREAMING! Aaron took my lego, no I didn't, yes you did, no I didn't... screeeeaaammmmm.....
oh my goodness....seriously? A lego? Is it really the end of the world? Do we not have 1,450,218 more upstairs? What about the ones I stepped on leaving my bedroom this morning? Huh? What about those?

OK. That's about it. Well, at least unti 5 p.m. today. We will see how the rest of the night goes and getting them to bed early for school tomorrow. Yea, great fun...

Until next time,

Praying for You

Here is a simple card using the Thoughts and Prayers stamp set. I find myself using the scallop oval punch on a ton of cards! The cardstock is So Saffron and Chocolate Chip with So Saffron grosgrain ribbon. Have a great week! New posts coming soon!

Hidden Message Card

Here is a fun new way to create a card. It's a hidden message card and I've used the stamp set Perfect Princess for this one. Other supplies were the Melon Mambo cardstock, Razzleberry Lemonade DSP, ticket corner punch, and a single brad to hidge the top. Try it out with any stamp set!
